Get recommended by AI, not just ranked by Google.
A growing share of your buyers now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, or Google's AI Overviews - and get one answer, not ten blue links. We make sure that answer includes you.
For twenty years, being found meant ranking. A growing slice of discovery now happens inside an answer box instead, where your buyer gets one response with a few citations and no second page to scroll through.
The work is getting into that set of citations, and most of it overlaps with the SEO you already have. We'd start with the audit, because the questions you're absent from and the competitors named in your place set the priority order for everything below.
What the work involves
- AI visibility audit: where you currently stand across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and AI Overviews for the questions your buyers actually ask, and who's being recommended instead of you.
- Structured data & entities: schema markup and consistent entity signals so machines can tell what you do and why you're credible. We've published our research on this shift.
- Content engineered for answers: clear claims, direct question-answering, and a structure that can be quoted. The passages that get cited are usually the ones an assistant can lift accurately.
- Citations & mentions: AI assistants weigh third-party corroboration heavily; our digital PR work feeds directly into this.
- Technical readiness: llms.txt, clean markdown accessibility, crawler access decisions made deliberately rather than by default.
- Paid placement: ads inside ChatGPT are live in several markets already. We run structured pilots alongside the organic work.
We practise this on 3wh.com before selling it to anyone, so ask us to show you our own audit.
Questions we get asked
Is this all just hype with a new acronym?
The acronyms (GEO, AEO, LLMO) are hype; the shift is not. AI assistants already answer real buying questions with a handful of citations, and referral patterns are visibly changing. The work is measurable and mostly compounds your SEO - that's what makes it worth doing now.
Can you guarantee we show up in ChatGPT answers?
No. Ask two assistants the same question, or ask one of them again a day later, and the names that come back aren't always the same, so a fixed placement isn't something we'd promise. What we can do is systematically improve every factor these systems demonstrably weigh, and measure your visibility as it moves.
How do you even measure AI visibility?
Structured prompt testing across the major assistants - do you appear for the questions your buyers ask, how are you described, who's cited instead - tracked over time, alongside AI referral traffic in your analytics. It's early-days measurement, and we're clear about its limits.
Does this replace our SEO?
It extends it. AI systems lean heavily on crawlable, credible, well-structured sources - the same foundations as search. Most AI visibility work makes your Google presence stronger too, which is exactly why it belongs in the same programme.
What about advertising inside ChatGPT?
Live, not coming - ChatGPT ads run today in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, with more markets opening. We run that as its own service: see ChatGPT Ads for how we pilot it without the hype tax. Organic visibility and paid placement compound each other; doing only one wastes half the effort.
